Michael John Nelson (born October 11, 1964) is an American comedian and writer, most known for his work on the cult television series Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). Nelson was the head writer of the series for most of the show’s original eleven-year run, and spent half of that time as the on-air host, also named Mike Nelson. In addition to writing books, Nelson is currently part of the online movie riffing sites RiffTrax and The Film Crew with fellow MST3K alumni, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy. He has written articles for Cracked.com.
The Starfighters is one of the more painful MST3K episodes but certainly no fault of Mike, The Bot, or the writers. They stepped up to the plate and did better than one could expect. With such a boring movie, it just wasn’t enough.
If you ever want to introduce MST3K to a potential new fan, this is an excellent film to start with.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine:… I have Gambit in the Deadpool
MST3K unsurprisingly is the way to go. The riffing is very good though as movie clearly provides ample material for both Mike and the bots. The commercial breaks are also breezy and fun.
