Tia Carrere got her big break on General Hospital and went to international stardom with her appearance in the two Wayne’s World films.
What is her best film? Of the ones I have seen, I would have to say True Lies.
What is her worst film? Well, Zombie Nightmare is pretty awful, but she does have an Asylum film Asteroid vs. Earth and a Pauly Shore comedy Jury Duty, both of which could easily knock Zombie Nightmare off its perch. Keep in mind there are some other dark horses, so plenty of opportunities for bad film fans.
Any Surprises? A couple of big ones. I had no idea Tia did so much voice-over work, particularly the various Lilo and Stitch films. Relic Hunter looks like it could be fun as a small screen Tomb Raider. It’s available for streaming on Roku so I will have to check that out. As for films, 1991’s Showdown in Little Tokyo looks like a lot of fun indeed. I am looking forward to seeing that one.
Since my first posting of this filmography, I have moved away from doing artwork and am using a different method to ascertain the filmography of the actor in question. In doing so, one thing has become abundantly clear about Tia Carrere. She is very hardworking. SHe does not say no tao a paycheck no matter how small.
The good news is Tia is often the best thing in any direct to video (Or I guess direct to streaming is the updated term?) movie you might see. Strangely enough, that can also be the worst thing about these films.
