I know since it won a bunch of Oscars people like to call it a thriller but one character eats people, and another skins them alive and wears their skin as an outfit. I am going to go with a horror film for this one.
Scratch is a real treat for those that enjoy their creature features.
While Goldeneye is better remembered for the videogame it spun off than the movie itself it remains Pierce Brosnan’s strongest outing and a very entertaining film in its own right.
Robocop is that rare eighties film that seems to only get better with time.
The films have virtually nothing to do with each other in tone and are not strong enough to stand on their own. They do remind me of Zardoz. A film to show your jaded friends who think they have seen everything.
Truth be told these people would be miserable no matter what class they were in and like a trapped guest I was looking to leave Abigail’s Party as soon as I could.
I still recommend The Last Samurai highly however as a thinking mans action movie.
After you watch the first twenty minutes, you will say to yourself hey this is cool. Do yourself a favor and turn off the TV. It is the only way to preserve the feeling.
Too long and slow for its good Ken Burns baseball sounds like the old uncle repeating the same stories long after he made his point.
